A flourishing and strong
house system

We encourage all pupils to engage with those outside their year group by active participation in a flourishing and strong House system. House events provide pupils with wide opportunities across a broad range of activities and, most importantly, they instil a desire to join in, have fun and make a contribution to the team, irrespective of personal ability.

Highly developed social skills

The pupils’ personal development is excellent. They show high levels of confidence and a healthy competitive spirit, encourage by the house system, which promotes good self-motivation. Pupils demonstrate strong moral awareness, and highly developed social skills, strengthened in the Senior School by their experiences at the outdoor centre.

The House system presents a unique opportunity to develop confidence – and, for Sixth Form students, leadership skills – by competing alongside pupils of all different ages in a variety of enjoyable events. Each Senior School and Sixth Form student is a member of one of the eight Houses. Each House has two House captains and another four deputy House captains.
